- A brief history. Central Island Distributors, was started in 1992 by Alex Dugan. Alex started with a 5-ton, tandem axle tractor, and a 28 foot pup trailer. Our first customer was Vancouver Island Brewery located in Victoria. We were given the task of distributing their beer north of Victoria. We worked day-in and day-out, hauling beer up island from the brewery…the rest is history.
